A Bike Ride through Dune Wonderland

29/12/2019

A few images as a memory of some great bike rides I did this year. More to follow in the new year. I did not bring my heavy camera, but tried out only using my mobile phone. Although not quite the same, it is handy, smaller and above all lighter!

Thanks to everyone visiting and following my blog, and for your comments this year.

Wishing you all the best for a good and colourful 2020! Keep being inspired and inspiring.

All about Flowers

A little bit of green

Photos of a very enjoyable bush walk, and an invitation for tips on editing the colour. I don’t always find it easy to get the right balance of red, green and blue in these bush images. Thank you beforehand.

Flowers in a different light

Inside

Some florists have a particular talent for showing their beautiful and colourful products. On one of my walks I came across this one, and just loved the low lighting.

Stay tuned for more flower(shop) photos.

Bushwalk

Taken with mobile phone on a lovely bushwalk. Delighted to find the silver fern’s koru, which signifies ‘new life and growth’, and the face with the cicada nymph exoskeleton as a tattoo!

Handicraft

25/01/2019

I thought I would start the new year with some handicraft. It’s something that inspires me and I’m planning to do this year, hoping to be able to combine it with my photography in some way.

These images were shot in Geyer, a small town in Saxony, Germany. There was a medieval festival the day I visited to celebrate that Geyer had been a town already for 550 years. It was an unexpected and fun morning! And now I’m off to my crochet workshop……

Wonderful Shopwindow

24/11/2018

On my travels I enjoy looking at shop windows. They can tell a lot about the area. This one was in Geyer, a little town in Germany, which recently celebrated (with a Medieval Festival) that 550 years ago it had officially become a town.

Avenue of the Giants

29/10/2018

Avenue of the Giants in Northern California runs through Humboldt Redwoods State Park, which is home to the tallest trees in the world, the amazing Redwoods. It is an absolutely beautiful, quiet and peaceful place, and I feel very lucky to have been able to experience it.
